Summer in Baltimore is a sensory explosion, from the scent of Old Bay-smothered steamed crabs and the taste of marshmallow-topped chocolate snoballs to the smell of Ocean City salt water mixed with sunscreen and the vision of fireflies streaking in the sticky evening sky.

It’s almost too much: Too much to taste, smell, hear, see, and do. That’s where City Paper comes in. In these pages, you’ll find all the resources you need for a sizzlin’ summer filled with camping trips , crawfish boils , outdoor movies , endless festivals , and a whole lot more.

Two particular items of note: The City Paper concert calendar pullout, which lists every show this summer—tack it to your wall and don’t miss a gig; and the search for Baltimore’s coldest draft beer, for which your dedicated City Paper staff worked ’round the clock, visiting more than 100 bars with thermometers, getting strange stares and increasingly drunk to bring you this essential summer info. Don’t say our work was in vain. Take a look and grab a cold one.
