Alexandria Fireworks. 4-10 p.m. July 13, Oronoco Bay Park, Union and Madison streets, Alexandria, (703) 746-3301, dc.about.com. The city of Alexandria celebrates the nation’s and its own birthday every year with children’s activities, a performance by the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra, and a grand fireworks display.

American Celebration at Mount Vernon. 8 a.m.-5 p.m. July 4, Mount Vernon: George Washington’s Estate and Gardens, 3200 Mount Vernon Memorial Highway, Mount Vernon, (703) 780-2000, mountvernon.org, $15, children $7, 5 and younger free. Celebrate our nation’s independence with a dazzling daytime fireworks display, military reenactments, and a special appearance by General Washington himself.

Baltimore Inner Harbor, Fireworks Dinner Cruise. 7:30-11 p.m. July 4, Spirit of Baltimore, 561 Light St., (866) 312-2469, spiritcruises.com, $109.90. Hop onboard the Baltimore Spirit this Fourth of July for a delicious buffet dinner, DJ entertainment, and front-row seats to the annual Inner Harbor fireworks display.

A Capitol Fourth Concert. 8-9:30 p.m. July 4, National Mall, between Constitution and Independence avenues, Washington, D.C., (202) 485-9880, pbs.org/capitol-fourth. Join the nation’s capital in celebrating our independence. This annual tradition includes a performance by the National Symphony Orchestra, followed by a fireworks display. Located on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol Building.

Catonsville’s July 4th Celebration. 9:30 a.m.-10:30 p.m. July 4, Catonsville High School, 421 Bloomsbury Ave., Catonsville Downtown Catonsville, Frederick Road between Ingleside Ave. and Melvin Ave., Catonsville, (410) 455-9648, catonsvillecelebrations.org, free. Join the festivities at Catonsville’s 67th Annual Independence Day Celebration. Come for the Grand Parade and “the best fireworks display in the region.”

Concert and Fireworks Uptown and Downtown OC. 8-10 p.m. July 4, Northside Park, 127th Street and the Bay, Ocean City Beach at North Division Street, Ocean City, (410) 250-0125, ococean.com. Take your pick between uptown and downtown OC for simultaneous live performances and fireworks displays to celebrate the nation’s independence.

Dundalk fourth of July Parade. 8:15 a.m.-10:30 p.m. July 4, Logan Village Shopping Center, Dundalk Ave., Dundalk, (410) 282-4550, dundalkheritagefair.com. Join the Heritage Association of Dundalk in celebrating its 79th Annual Fourth of July Parade.

Fire on the Mountain. 8-10 p.m. July 4, Deep Creek Lake State Park, Garrett County, McHenry, (301) 387-4386, visitdeepcreek.com. This Fourth of July, enjoy a fireworks display launched from Wisp Resort toward Deep Creek Lake.

Fireworks at Fairgrounds Park. 6 p.m.-10 p.m. July 4, Fairgrounds Park, 351 N. Cleveland Ave., Hagerstown, (301) 739-8577, hagerstownmd.org. Live music all day and fireworks display at Fairgrounds Park at night for this Fourth of July.

Frederick’s 4th. noon-9:30 p.m. July 4, North Bentz and West 2nd streets, Baker Park Bandshell, Frederick, (301) 694-2489, celebratefrederick.com. Frederick goes all out for its Fourth of July festivities. Enjoy local and national performers on two stages, get a taste of award-winning chili, dunk a local celebrity, or race a bathtub down Culler Lake.

Freedom Fest. 5-10 p.m. July 5, Somers Cove Marina, Crisfield, (410) 962-4290, somerscovemarina.com. The American Legion hosts this annual event with food, kids activities, and a veterans slideshow.

Georgetown Harbor Fireworks and Boat Parade. 5-10 p.m. July 4, Georgetown Harbor, Kent County, (410) 778-0416, kentcounty.com. Celebrate Fourth of July in Kent County with its annual boat parade and fireworks display.

Havre de Grace Parade and Fireworks. 2-10 p.m. July 4, Tydings Memorial Park, 350 Commerce St., Havre de Grace, (410) 939-9342, hdgtourism.com. The parade begins at 2 p.m. on Union Avenue, followed by a concert (7 p.m.) and fireworks display (9:15 p.m.) at Tydings Park.

Hereford Independence Day Festivities. 4-10 p.m. June 30, Hereford High School, 17301 York Road, Parkton, (410) 887-1905, herefordparade.org. Join Hereford in celebrating its annual Independence Day festivities.

Independence Day Concert and Fireworks. 7-10:30 p.m. July 4, Montgomery County Fairgrounds, 16 Chestnut St., Gaithersburg, (301) 258-6350, gaithersburgmd.gov. Join the annual Fourth of July celebration at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. Independence Day Fireworks Cruise. 7:30-10:30 p.m. July 4, Annapolis Harbor, Annapolis, (410) 293-1262, watermarkjourney.com, cruisesonthebay.com, $48, children 11 and younger $28. Hop onboard the Harbor Queen for a relaxing cruise around Annapolis Harbor and the scenic Severn River. Enjoy the beautiful sunset before you are dazzled by the City of Annapolis fireworks display. The cruise includes light snacks and a cash bar.

Maryland Symphony Orchestra Salute To Independence. 7:30-10:30 p.m. July 6, Antietam Battlefield, 302 W. Main St., Sharpsburg, (301) 797-4000, marylandsymphony.org, nps.gov/anti. The Maryland Symphony Orchestra’s annual Salute to Independence Concert and fireworks show.

Old-Fashioned July 4th Picnic and Fireworks. noon-10:30 p.m., July 4, Carroll County Farm Museum, 500 S. Center St., Westminster, (410) 848-7775, ccgov.carr.org. Fourth of July celebrations include live music and children’s games with food and crafts for sale.

Ports America Chesapeake Fourth of July Celebration. 3-10 p.m. July 4, Inner Harbor, promotionandarts.org. Visit Baltimore’s Inner Harbor on Fourth of July for live music and a spectacular fireworks display.

Rock Hall July 4th Parade and Fireworks. 9-10 p.m. July 3, Rock Hall Association, Mainstreet, Rock Hall, (410) 778-0415, rockhallmd.com. Witness “the best pyrotechnic display on the East Coast.” It can be viewed from the bay and anywhere around Rock Hall Harbor. There will be a parade the following day, July 4, at 10 a.m. on Main Street.

Star-Spangled Spectacular. 8 p.m. July 3-4, Oregon Ridge Park, 13555 Beaver Dam Road, Cockeysville, (410) 783-8000, bsomusic.org, $9-$18. The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra performs Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, Sousa’s Stars and Stripes Forever, and more to soundtrack a fireworks display.

Towson Fourth of July Parade. 10 a.m.-noon July 4, Bosley and Burke avenues, Towson, (410) 832-2190, towsonparade.org. Towson thanks its veterans with this annual parade.
