Hamilton

Clementine, Hamilton Tavern, Los Amigos, and more

Big Bad Wolf’s House of Barbecue

5713 Harford Road, (410) 444-6422

$$, L, D, Out

Hamilton carryout joint dispenses tender animal parts in classic regional sauces—Kansas City sweet and spicy, Carolina mustard or vinegar, and Texas pit style, our favorite. Also, try the Eastern Shore chicken.

Chameleon Café

4341 Harford Road, (410) 254-2376, thechameleoncafe.com

$$$, D, R

Chameleon was in the vanguard of the farm-to-table movement locally, and it has continued to maintain a very high standard for its French-influenced cuisine while also maintaining a lovely at-home feel in its dining rooms. Really a treasure.

Clementine

5402 Harford Road, (410) 444-1497, bmoreclementine.com

$$$, B, L, D, Br, P

Clementine’s expanded dining room and liquor license gives the restaurant more room to work its farm-to-table magic. The menu changes often, but house-made pickles, charcuterie, and old-fashioned layer cakes always shine.

Hamilton Tavern

5517 Harford Road, (410) 426-1930, hamiltontavern.com

$$, D, Out, 10 p.m.

This intimate spot feels more like a bar than a restaurant, but locals raid the small menu for ambitious bar eats such as the Roseda beef crosstown burger or a plate of scarfable fried dill pickle chips with goat cheese sauce.

Koco’s Pub

4301 Harford Road, (410) 426-3519, kocospub.com

$$, L, D

Lauraville’s family-owned Koco’s has been a neighborhood institution for more than 25 years. It’s easy to see why. Eleven-ounce lump crab cakes will bring even the heartiest eater to their knees. The crab soup is even better. Plenty of other pubby faves dot the menu, and the one-of-the-family atmosphere’s hard to beat.

Los Amigos

5506 Harford Road, (410) 444-4220, losamigosbaltimore.com

$$, L, D, Out

Straight-up Tex-Mex (and some Peruvian) belly-filling fare with above-average quality and preparation. The service is very friendly, and the margaritas are decent.
