Monday, Aug. 30

2:50 a.m. Louis Scott, a 25-year-old African-American man, was in the 2700 block of Parkwood Avenue near Druid Hill Park when someone with a gun came up to him and shot him numerous times. Scott died at an area hospital at 3:29 a.m.

5:55 p.m. John Lemon Jr., a 44-year-old African-American man, died at a local hospital. Lemon was standing at a bus stop in the 2600 block of Reisterstown Road by Mondawmin Mall on Aug. 18 at 1:43 a.m. when a man beat him. During the beating, Lemon fell and hit his head on a pole. He was taken to a hospital unconscious and died from his injuries 12 days later.

Tuesday, Aug. 31

12:37 a.m. Nathaniel Santiago, a 31-year-old Hispanic man, was shot repeatedly in the 4100 block of Harris Avenue in Belair-Parkside. He died at a nearby hospital an hour later. Santiago is the fourth Hispanic person murdered this year.

Thursday, Sept. 2

11:09 p.m. Three people were shot in the 500 block of East Lynn Avenue. A 14-year-old was shot in the hand, a 22-year-old was shot in the neck, and Datea Scott-Smith, a 30-year-old African-American woman, was shot multiple times in the back. Scott-Smith died at an area hospital at 11:39 p.m. The other two victims survived. Police believe that the shooting occurred during an argument over drugs. Seven females have been murdered in 2010.

Friday, Sept. 3

10:12 p.m. Levern Domneys, a 20-year-old African-American man, was shot in an alley in the 2000 block of Baker Street in West Baltimore. He died two hours later at an area hospital. With Domneys’ death, 128 African-American males have been murdered this year, making up 87 percent of 2010’s homicide victims.
