Police shot two robbery suspects on the night of Wednesday, Feb. 12. One man was shot, on the 2500 block of Liberty Heights Avenue, with a cash drawer in his hands. Police say the other man had broken into a Morrell Park house wearing a jacket with the word “Police” on the back. That man, Bernard Lofton, a 22-year-old African-American man, died soon after at a hospital. Homicide was called for a man shot in the head on Feb. 10 but he has survived. Police also pulled the body of a man from the harbor on the morning of Feb. 15. Cause and manner of death were pending at press time.

Monday, Feb. 10

8:45 p.m. Donnell Saunders, a 25-year-old African-American man, had just stepped outside his house on the 1500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue for a moment when he was shot multiple times. He died soon after at a hospital.

Tuesday, Feb. 11

7:19 a.m. Police were called to the 3900 block of The Alameda by firefighters who had discovered the body of Terry Junior Davis, a 48-year-old African-American man. He had “trauma to his head.” Police say Davis lived in the house.

8:42 p.m. 13 hours and less than a mile away from where Davis was found, Norvin Darrell Jones, a 26-year-old African-American man, was shot multiple times in the chest while on the 500 block of East 35th Street. He was taken to a hospital but died less than an hour later.
