Note: Because of the Memorial Day holiday, this week’s count is through Friday, May 24. Any weekend murders will be covered in next week’s Murder Ink.

Monday, May 20

8:15 p.m.: Police found Montel L. Gresham, a 19-year-old African-American man, on the 3100 block of Cliftmont Avenue. He had been shot multiple times. He was taken to a hospital but died about 45 minutes later. Court records indicate Gresham lived on the 4200 block of Shamrock Avenue.

Wednesday, May 22

3:03 a.m.: At least two people were shot on the 1600 block of Cliftview Avenue in Darley Park. Police found two African-American men there and sent them to a hospital. Less than a half-hour later, police were called to Johns Hopkins hospital after another African-American man walked in with a bullet wound in his chest. Police think the shootings may be related. Both survivors were not identified by police. At 6:45 a.m., one of the men found on Cliftview, Robert Tucker, 28, died from his wounds.

9:51 p.m.: Police called for a shooting on the 2800 block of Ashland Avenue on the east side found Xavier Lewis, a 25-year-old African-American man, lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds in his torso. He died on the scene. This was 18 hours and less than 2 miles from the last murder.
