Thursday, March 14

At noon, Southern District police responded to a report of a person not breathing on the 2600 block of Wegworth Lane. There they found Rachel Curtis, a 31-year-old African American woman inside her home. She had been stabbed to death. At press time, police were looking for Michael Wesley, a 33-year-old African-American man who they said had suffered a cut to his hand in the attack on Curtis.

Sunday, March 17

5:18 A.M. A 46-year-old African-American man, whose name police are withholding until they can notify his family, was stabbed to death at the city homeless shelter at 600 Fallsway. Later that day, police arrested Gary Burton, 50, an African-American man living on the 1000 block of North Kenwood Avenue, and charged him with murder. Burton was held without bail.

11:15 A.M. Six hours after the shelter stabbing, Western District police responded to a report of a shooting on the 1800 block of Ruxton Avenue and found a burgundy Honda Accord in the middle of the road, riddled with bullets. Terrence Rheubottom, a 27-year-old African-American man, was in the driver’s seat with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to Shock Trauma, where he died at 12:12 P.M.

9:34 P.M. A little more than 10 hours later, Northwest District police found a white van parked in the back of a house on the 3700 block of Manchester Avenue. The van was also riddled with bullets and the driver was also shot many times. Alexander Moulton, a 29-year-old African-American man, was transported to a hospital, where he died at 10:15 the following morning.

Updates:

A second man has been charged for a Feb. 2 home invasion and murder on the 3400 block of Reisterstown Road. Police charged Roger Spears, 32, with the first-degree murder of Quentin Cannady, who police say tried to fight off a robbery in the early-morning hours. Police previously charged Eric Jones in the case (Murder Ink, Feb. 20).

On March 14, police charged Domonic Faulkner, 23, an African-American man whose address is listed as the 900 block of North Payson Street, with first-degree murder, armed robbery, and handgun charges for the March 4 killing of 22-year-old African-American man David Womack. He was held without bail.
