The man shot repeatedly in the 3000 block of Chesterfield Avenue on Sept. 23 has been identified as Kwame Stern, a 22-year-old African-American man.
Monday, Sept. 24
4:02 P.M. Anthony Keyser, a 45-year-old Caucasian man, was sitting on the back steps of his home near the intersection of North Linwood Avenue and East Baltimore Street in the middle of the afternoon when someone shot him in the head. He died at a city hospital at 4:30 P.M. Keyser is the sixth Caucasian murdered this year and the second in two weeks.
Tuesday, Sept. 25
12:53 A.M. A 35-year-old African-American man was discovered lying face down in the street in the 1800 block of Mosher Street in Sandtown-Winchester. He had been shot in the head and body and was dead. Police are waiting until his family has been notified of his death to release his name.
Wednesday, Sept. 26
8:35 A.M. David Ervin Jr., a 41-year-old African-American man, was found dead in his home in the 3600 block of Old York Road in Waverly. Gunshots were heard in the area around 10:30 P.M. the night before. Police believe Ervin was shot in the chest at that time and made his way to his home, where he died.
Thursday, Sept. 27
7:03 P.M. An African-American woman was found shot several times in the 200 block of Reedbird Avenue in Cherry Hill. She was conscious and alert when police arrived and was taken to a city hospital, where she died at 1 A.M. the next day. Police believe that the woman was working for a sedan service and picked up a fare in the 900 block of Coppin Court who shot and killed her. Police are waiting until the woman’s family has been notified of her death to release her name.
9:07 P.M. Two hours later, Nana Mensah, a 19-year-old African-American woman from Randallstown, was sitting in a car in the 300 block of South Augusta Avenue in Irvington. A gray two-door Honda with tinted windows drove into the block and someone in the car pointed a gun at some men standing on the corner. The car drove off but returned, pulled up next to Mensah’s car, and someone in the gray car shot Mensah once in the head. Mensah is the 18th biological female murdered this year and the fourth woman murdered this month.
Sunday, Sept. 30
3:17 A.M. A 28-year-old African-American man got into an argument inside a residence in the 600 block of North Belnord Avenue. The argument spilled out onto the street where the man was shot in the head. He died at an area hospital at 3:31 A.M. Police are waiting until his family has been informed of his death to release the man’s name. This is the second week in a row where there have been at least as many homicides in Baltimore City as days in the week. There have been eight weeks with seven or more homicides so far this year. As of Monday, Oct. 1, there were eight more murders in 2012 than as of the same day in 2011.
