For the first time this year, Baltimore City has seen more homicide victims than days in the week, with eight murders.

The man who was found shot to death in a vacant house in the 3000 block of Oakley Avenue has been identified as Robert Bond, a 21-year-old African-American man from Parkville.

Tuesday, May 8

1 p.m. Shavar Little, a 28-year-old African-American man, was shot in the forehead behind the 1900 block of Aisquith Street near Green Mount Cemetery. He died at an area hospital less than an hour later.

2:55 p.m. Terrence Anderson, a 19-year-old African-American man, died at a local hospital. Anderson was shot repeatedly on May 6 at 2:50 a.m. while standing outside in the 600 block of North Eutaw Street at the edge of Mount Vernon. This is the sixth murder this year in the Central Police District, which covers downtown Baltimore. Five of these homicides occurred in the last two months.

5:50 p.m. Cornell Booker, a 46-year-old African-American man, died at an area hospital. Booker got into an argument with his girlfriend in the 300 block of Whitridge Avenue near the intersection of Guilford Avenue and 28th Street on April 19 at 9:51 p.m. During the argument someone else assaulted Booker. He fell backward and hit his head on the ground, which caused severe head trauma.

10:34 p.m. The fourth homicide victim on May 8 was Christopher Mobley, a 28-year-old African-American man. He died at a city hospital seven days after he was shot. Mobley was shot in the arm and neck in the 3400 block of Piedmont Avenue on May 1 at 9:18 p.m. This is the first time this year that four people died as a result of homicides in a single day. The second occurred five days later.

Sunday, May 13

12:10 p.m. Just after noon, Thomas Weddington, a 34-year-old African-American man, got into an argument in his home in the 2600 block of Park Heights Terrace in Central Park Heights. The person he was arguing with stabbed Weddington in the chest with a pocketknife. Weddington died at a local hospital at 1:08 p.m.

4:40 p.m. An officer patrolling the Allendale neighborhood he heard multiple gunshots and saw a large crowd running. The officer discovered Derrick Lawson, a 33-year-old African-American man, shot numerous times in the legs and torso in the 4000 block of West Franklin Street. Lawson died at an area hospital at 5:32 p.m.

9:11 p.m. That night, police were called to the 200 block of Herring Court in the Perkins Homes public housing development off Broadway and Pratt Street. When they arrived, a large group of people was standing around Dominick Brown, a 24-year-old African-American man. He was lying on the sidewalk and had been shot multiple times. He died at a city hospital at 9:30 p.m.

10:17 p.m. About an hour later, Lacy Lamb, a 19-year-old African-American man, was in the basement of a residence in the 1600 block of East 32nd Street near Baltimore City College. Lamb was sitting on a bed playing video games with two males when someone walked up to the basement window and shot him through it. Lamb died at an area hospital at midnight.

Updates: Markez Jones, a 25-year-old African-American man, was arrested on May 5 for the murder of Marvin Hayes, a 22-year-old African-American man. Hayes and a friend were playing pick-up basketball in the 800 block of North Gilmore Street on July 19, 2011. Hayes’ friend and Jones got into an argument over the game. During the fight, Hayes was stabbed in the chest.

Daniel Sullivan, a 31-year-old African-American man, was sentenced to life in prison plus 20 years on May 9 for the murder of his girlfriend, Keenya Jordan, a 32-year-old African-American woman. Jordan was shot in the head and upper body in the 600 block of Lennox Avenue on April 6, 2011. Jordan had gotten several peace orders against Sullivan; when he killed her, he was on probation for assaulting Jordan a few days before Christmas. Sullivan used a gun stolen from another woman he was dating to kill Jordan.
