Monday, April 16

9:11 p.m. Ricardo Mabray, a 26-year-old African-American man, was shot in the neck and shoulder in the 1300 block of Aisquith Street in Oliver. He died at an area hospital at 9:39 p.m.

9:40 p.m. A minute after Mabray died, Maurice Garrison, a 34-year-old African-American man, was found in the 4700 block of Liberty Heights Avenue. He had been shot repeatedly and died at a local hospital an hour later.

 

Tuesday, April 17

11:16 p.m. The next night back in Oliver, Marvin Buckson, a 29-year-old African-American man, was shot in the head in the 1700 block of Spring Street. He died at a city hospital at 11:43 p.m. This is the fourth murder in Oliver in two months. The neighborhood, which is six blocks by five blocks, is currently the most murderous in the city.

 

Wednesday, April 18

12:58 a.m. A few hours after Buckson was killed, Derick Smith, a 33-year-old African-American man, was in La-Son’s Bar in the 3200 block of Belair Road when someone came in and shot him numerous times. According to The Baltimore Sun, there were 80 people inside the bar at the time of the shooting.

Updates

Herbert Mayes, a 26-year-old African-American man, was arrested on March 30 for the murder of Chauncey Hardy, a 59-year-old African-American man. Hardy was shot numerous times in the 900 block of Valley Street.

Anthony Cole, a 29-year-old African-American man, was arrested on April 17 and charged with the murder of Phillip Scott, a 34-year-old African-American man. Scott was sitting on some steps in the 1900 block of Etting Street on April 14 with Cole’s estranged wife. Cole allegedly started assaulting his wife. When Scott tried to leave, Cole allegedly shot him several times. Cole also allegedly shot at his wife as she ran away, but she was not hit and Cole has not been charged with attempted murder.

Also on April 17, police arrested three people in connection with the murder of Sean Johnson, a 12-year-old African-American male. Johnson was on the porch of a home in the 1700 block of Cliftview Avenue with three friends watching a basketball game in May 2011 when all four were shot. Johnson was shot in the chest and died; the other three survived. Derrick Brown, an 18-year-old African-American man; Antwan Mosley, a 20-year-old African-American man; and Danyae Robinson, a 29-year-old African-American man, have been charged with the shootings.

Deante Tucker, a 27-year-old African-American man, was arrested on April 20 for the murder of Robert Laney Jr., a 33-year-old African-American man. Laney was shot repeatedly in the 1400 block of Fillmore Street on April 8.
