The two men found shot in the head in the laundry room of an apartment complex in the 1700 block of Gwynns Falls Parkway on Jan. 9 have been identified. They were Marvin Kelly, a 22-year-old African-American man, and Willie Davis, a 26-year-old African-American man.
After starting off the week with two homicides, Baltimore City went seven days without a homicide. Despite that respite, there were three more homicides as of Jan. 17, 2011, than as of the same date in 2010.
Monday, Jan. 10
9:46 p.m. Police discovered Wendell Woodard, a 26-year-old African-American man, shot numerous times in his home in the 3000 block of Harford Road across from Clifton Park. He died at an area hospital less than an hour later.
11:41 p.m. Two hours after Woodard was found, Kevin Lewis, a 45-year-old African-American man, was shot in the side outside a home in the 600 block of North Carrollton Avenue in Harlem Park. He died at a local hospital at 1:15 a.m.
