A homicide from earlier this year was inadvertantly left out of Murder Ink. At 1:09 a.m. on June 27, Eric Williams, a 28-year-old African-American man, was shot in the head when people entered his home to rob him. He died at a local hospital at 1:37 a.m. City Paper regrets the error.
Tuesday, Nov. 9
11:30 p.m. A 25-year-old African-American man was found lying on the sidewalk next to a vehicle in the 1500 block of Roundhill Road near Morgan State University. Police believe the shooting occurred while the man was in the car. He died at a local hospital an hour later. Police are waiting until his family has been notified of his death to release his name.
Saturday, Nov. 13
1:50 a.m. Sherrod Mason, a 34-year-old African-American man, was shot in the head in the 1900 block of West Baltimore Street. He died at 10:37 a.m. at an area hospital.
9:51 p.m. Police were called to a home in the 400 block of South East Avenue near Patterson Park. David Hopkins, a 19-year-old African-American man, had been stabbed in the back. He died at a local hospital at 10: 29 p.m. David Hopkins’ uncle Dwayne Hopkins, a 44-year-old African-American man, was arrested for David’s murder. According to a witness, David’s father and Dwayne got into an argument over David's behavior. During the argument between his father and uncle, David allegedly intervened, pushing his uncle down a flight of stairs. Dwayne then went to the kitchen and got a knife. David’s father went outside to finish the fight with Dwayne. David remained inside. Dwayne came out and walked away from the house. David had been stabbed.
