The person shot in the head in the 800 block of West Lexington Street on Sept. 30 has been identified as Arthur Peacock, a 34-year-old African-American man.
Tuesday, Oct. 5
11:45 p.m. Randol Buncombe, a 24-year-old African-American woman, and a man were sitting on the back porch of a home in the 2700 block of Claflin Court in Cherry Hill. Two men came up to Buncombe and her companion to rob them. The man with Buncombe gave the robbers some money but the men shot them anyway. The man was hit in the buttocks and survived. Buncombe was shot in the back and died.
Wednesday, Oct. 6
11:42 a.m. Kirk Carter, a 22-year-old African-American man, was found inside a home in the 2300 block of Sidney Avenue in nearby Westport. He had been shot and stabbed and was dead.
Friday, Oct. 8
1:40 p.m. A woman returned to her home in the 2600 block of Edison Highway. Her husband Sterling Palmer, a 78-year-old African-American man, was inside and had been stabbed numerous times. He was dead. At least seven people over 60 have been murdered this year.
Saturday, Oct. 9
Midnight. An unidentified male was shot repeatedly in the 3100 block of Grantley Avenue in Northwest Baltimore. He died at a local hospital at 8:26 a.m.
8:15 p.m. Daryll Hood, a 22-year-old African-American man, was shot in an alley off the 4700 block of Shamrock Avenue near Herring Run Park. He died at an area hospital at 8:52 p.m.
8:53 p.m. A minute after Hood died, police discovered Travis Lane, a 19-year-old African-American man, in the 3500 block of North Calvert Street near Johns Hopkins University’s Homewood campus. Lane had been shot in the chest and the hip. He died at a nearby hospital an hour later. Police believe that Lane may have been shot elsewhere and dumped in the Oakenshawe neighborhood. A connection between this shooting and the one on Shamrock has not been ruled out.
11:49 p.m. An unidentified man got into an argument in the 3000 block of Presbury Street in West Baltimore. Shortly afterward, he was shot several times. He died at 1:23 a.m. the next day.
Sunday, Oct. 10
1:42 a.m. Two people were shot in the 1600 block of Warwick Avenue, just a few blocks from the Presbury Street shooting. One was shot in the arm and survived. Dennis Waddell, a 33-year-old African-American man, was shot multiples times and died before he could be taken to a hospital.
