Larnell Is Right On

Regarding the letter from Larnell Custis Butler in the Aug. 25 issue where she blasted Republicans (“Republican White Devils,” The Mail)—from a blue-eyed devilish white—you go (home)girl! You are so right on!
I don’t know why the Republican Party isn’t abolished. It certainly does not apply to cities (or anywhere) anymore with its we-never-have-one-positive-thing-to-offer. It seems incredibly retro.
But Larnell, imagine the rally by people like Glenn Beck in Washington, D.C., last Saturday. They are even worse. We probably should think of creative ways to mess them up, don’t you think?
When I see pinched-faced Mitch McConnell or the tanning-salon guy, Boehner, on TV, I want to barf—they remind me of Spiro Agnew.
I think what Goldwater said—that “extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice”—was perfectly correct. Only wrong thing? He was on the Right! (He was wrong in the Right.)
If you follow Jesus, you will be on the Left (check out his “Sermon on the Mount”)!
