In this week's issue of the City Paper, Charlie Vascellaro captures all the excitement of this season's Orioles Magic, as Seen From Section 8, in a photo-packed feature. Jim Meyer's Spitballin' allows that magic to help him deal with his hatred of the Yankees (and a 7th grade tormentor).

City Folk provides a glimpse of a marketing rep at Under Armour who had a brush with fame on CW's "The Next," but prefers to be the underdog.

In Mobtown Beat, Baynard Woods follows a caucus with the Baltimore Teachers Union fighting for real reform, and Edward Ericson, Jr. looks at a program allowing citizens to tackle the Blight of Vacant Houses within their community.

In the Arts, John Barry bivouacs with the Chesapeake Shakespeare Company's Richard III, and Andrea Appleton reviews Breaking the Code at the Performance Workshop Theater. Geoffrey Himes revels in AVAM's new show "The Art of Storytelling," and Bret McCabe offers a warm remembrance of recently departed poet Chris Toll. In Film, Bob O'Brien takes us inside Sight Unseen's strange Projexorcism, and Erin Gleeson reviews The Giant Mechanical Man.

In Music, Michael Gonzalez presents Skiz, aka Spectre, and Wordsound records, while Evan Serpick interviews John Darnielle of the Mountain Goats, and Michael Byrne tells us What's Happening With Heavy Music.

Our newly expanded Eats and Drinks section lets Baynard Woods explore a cultish fascination with Hatch Green Chile. Michelle Gienow takes us deer hunting and helps us Cook the Hame-with root beer! Andrea Appleton's Cheap Eats revels in the sweet stuff at Hamilton Bakery.

And don't forget to check out the Baltimore City Power Rankings, Every Day I'm Hustlin', and our Weekly Calendar.
