Sizzlin’ Summer: Summer in Baltimore is a sensory explosion, from the scent of Old Bay-smothered steamed crabs and the taste of marshmallow-topped chocolate snoballs to the smell of Ocean City salt water mixed with sunscreen and the vision of fireflies. 5/15/2013

Chicago Mocks Us

I hereby call on the city council to take a vote of “no confidence”

Well, another Wednesday, another report of the failures and excesses of the Rawlings-Blake administration. And is anyone surprised? At this point, our Beloved Führer . . . no wait, “mayor,” is more a source for indicators of corruption, usurpation, and power plays than any sort of “civic leader.” Did the latest attempt, the castration of CHAP (“Self Preservation,” Mobtown Beat, Aug. 29) surprise anyone? Following her attack on civic accountability re: the audits bill, was it surprising her puppets on the city council tried to move another hearing away from public oversight, legal or no?

I hereby call on the city council to take a vote of “no confidence” in the mayor. I further call on the citizens of baltimore to elect a competent replacement for any councilperson who votes “Nay” in said vote. Seriously, folks. Our current administration is so fucking corrupt, Chicago is laughing at us. Stephanie Rawlings-Blake isn’t fit to govern a beauty pageant, much less a city as beautiful as Baltimore.
