We haven't been making a big deal out of the Birds' season because JINX! But at press time, Dem O's have sparked a second-half resurgence, winning five of their last six games. BCPR still isn't holding it's breath for a playoff run (but it's thinking about it JINX!)

2 Johns Hopkins Hospital

After a 22-year run at the top spot, Hopkins drops to number two in U.S. News and World Report’s rankings, behind Massachusetts General.

3 Stephanie Rawlings-Blake

Again SRB stymies efforts for robust audits of city government, earning louder grumbles over Il Mayore’s powergrabbing style. Now, she won’t release the emails of ex-IT chief Rico Singleton, who was ousted after previous ethical misconduct came to light.

4 Andres Alonso

The halo the city schools CEO has had over his head for five years while graduation rates and test scores soared dims as scores stall. With crumbling school buildings and failed schools coming into focus, maybe prayer in schools isn’t such a bad idea?

5 Martin O’Malley

Gov’s obvious national aspirations take him to any Sunday show that’ll offer him a microphone—next up: guest spot on The Sports Reporters? Meanwhile, opponents of his Dem-favoring redistricting get it on the November ballot. Don’t forget where you came from, O pally...
