THURSDAY: SOJA brings its own idea of folk music to Rams Head Live, while the Manly Deeds take theirs to Joe Squared Station North. 98 Rock’s Rock The Dock summer concert series hosts the tribal psychedelia of Telesma outside the Hard Rock Cafe. 88MPH risks a speeding ticket at the Charm City Art Space. If the Michael Jackson-shaped hole in your heart can only be filled by a symphony orchestra, then you’re in luck: The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra is taking on the King of Pop’s catalog at Pier Six Pavilion.

FRIDAY: Among Wolves get drunkenly transcendent, or transcendently drunk, at the Windup Space with the Honest Mistakes. Novelty rockers the Dan Band get silly at Rams Head Live. Iceland’s Mrs. Malfridur Markan performs at the Queer Is Where the Heart Is art exhibition at the Metro Gallery. Coastal bar-band lifers Love Seed Mama Jump play somebody else’s hits at Power Plant Live. The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra returns to Pier Six Pavilion to play the music of Led Zeppelin. Terrible band names abound at the Sidebar: Belie My Burial, Sirens and Sailors, Beheading of a King, Failure in Vanity, and Blessings in Disguise. Jazz drummer Eric Kennedy brings a few friends to An die Musik Live. Trace Blam and A Cool Stick head up a rare hip-hop bill at the 8x10.

SATURDAY: Putting “the” in the middle of band names (Foster the People, Young the Giant) is super-hot right now, so catch 86 the Effort at the 8x10 or This the Rescue at the Recher Theatre. Meanwhile, Yellow Dubmarine and Psycho Killer perform their own tributes to the Beatles and the Talking Heads, respectively, at Rams Head Live. The intensely named Consumed With Hatred plays appropriately intense “blackened hardcore” at the Charm City Art Space. DJ Sal Flip hosts his weekly Saturday Summer Social at the Baltimore Soundstage. Ex-Avail frontman Tim Barry comes to the Ottobar. Don’t miss: The Baltimore An die Musik 2012 Electronica Fest closes out with Jonathan Badger and Stargazer 21.

SUNDAY: Alexei Tartakovski tickles the ivories at An die Musik Live. Don’t miss: The Ottobar holds a listening party for J Dilla’s The Rebirth of Detroit, with performances by Eze Jackson of Soul Cannon, B-Fly, Sean Toure, and other Baltimore rap fixtures.

MONDAY: Santana and the Allman Brothers Band bring their co-headlining tour of epic jams to Merriweather Post Pavilion. Cryptodira comes out of its shell at the Sidebar.

TUESDAY: The Out Of Your Head collective features Ben Frock and Will Redman this week at the Windup Space. Amadou and Mariam try to put the hardship of being sampled by Maroon 5 behind them at the 9:30 Club in Washington. Universal Remonster and Station are at the Sidebar.
