Rob Perry hosts the monthly Nippon Motion party at the Sidebar. And Grouplove plays that iPod commercial song that’s totally stuck in my fucking head now at the 9:30 Club down in Washington, D.C.

THURSDAY: Good causes worth buying a ticket for: An die Musik holds a fundraising concert for the next M3E festival with Jerry Busher and Mike Sebastian, and Bands Against Bully presents a show to benefit the It Gets Better Foundation, headlined by Clear for Takeoff, at the Ottobar. Of Montreal, the indie-pop band that collaborated with Janelle Monáe before that combination was the kind of thing that produced No. 1 pop hits, plays Towson’s Recher Theatre. Lindsey Buckingham continues never breaking the chain at Baltimore Soundstage. The May Season and Visit rock the Sidebar. Someone calling himself Jigga, who is presumably not Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter, opens for RaceCarBed at the Talking Head Lounge. Don’t Miss: The Windup Space hosts a singer/songwriter night that includes Austin Stahl (Private Eleanor, Small Sur) and Chris Pumphrey.

FRIDAY: Baltimore-bred teen trumpet prodigy Nico Sarbanes toots his own horn at An die Musik. Baltimore’s third annual Hip Hop for the Homeless brings together an all-star bill of local rappers for a fundraiser and food drive at Wheel Deal on Reisterstown Road. Lisa Marie Presley struggles heroically to make music that’s remotely as interesting as her personal life at Baltimore Soundstage. The vegan straight-edge Chicago punks Poison Planet make some sober and conscientious noise at the Charm City Art Space. The Recher Theatre hosts a local-music spotlight featuring Second Question and Psykotic Melody. Don’t Miss: The former Local H frontman’s new outfit Scott Lucas and the Married Men arrive at the Metro Gallery.

SATURDAY: Lana Avacada and Girl Scouts headline a Philly-heavy bill at the Charm City Art Space. A pileup of heavy local bands hits the Talking Head for the Community Collision Fest II. Legendary Gun Club and Cramps guitarist Kid Congo Powers turns up at the Golden West’s Sloppy Summer Party. Get Connecticut fever with New Haven metal band Dead By Wednesday at the Recher Theatre. Baltimore Soundstage hosts a DJ set by Dirtyphonics. The second night of Baltimore’s third annual Hip Hop for the Homeless continues at Rim Source on Belair Road.

SUNDAY: The bright young kids from the School of Rock dedicate their weekend matinee this time around to the morbid concept of “The 27 Club” (that is, the illustrious number of musicians who passed away at that very young age, such as Kurt Cobain and Jimi Hendrix) at the Ottobar.

MONDAY: Local rockers Lushfarm hit the Sidebar with Sound and Shape.

TUESDAY: Indie-rap cottage industry and radio-unfriendly unit shifter Tech N9ne plays Baltimore Soundstage with major-label nobody Machine Gun Kelly. Santigold does her version of Gwen Stefani, which critics inexplicably like, at Rams Head Live. Don’t Miss: And the Out of Your Head collective holds down its weekly spot of unpredictable improv at the Windup Space.

WEDNESDAY: The Homeless Gospel Choir, which is neither homeless nor a gospel choir, plays the Charm City Art Space with Listener. Coors Light sponsors a dubious “Search for the Coldest,” in which two local MCs open for rising mainstream star Wale, and then fans vote on which one best represents our region in the beer company’s contest. Slumming rap legend and Hollywood power player Ice Cube hosts and special guests DJ Khaled and DJ Drama do whatever guys who shout over mixtapes do in front of an audience at Baltimore Soundstage. A fellow named Jonny Corndawg would like to see you at the Ottobar.

IN THE WINGS: On June 24, Merriweather Post Pavilion hosts the Vans Warped Tour, which is starting to resemble an emo Lollapalooza with its nostalgic lineup of bands that used to be on the radio five-10 years ago, including Taking Back Sunday and New Found Glory.
