Deep Sugar with Honey is a special edition of the monthly Deep Sugar party at the Paradox, presented on Nov. 10, in collaboration with Maryland environmentalist Cathy Allen, aka the Green Ambassador. In order to promote and spread awareness of preservation of the Maryland honey bee, Deep Sugar with Honey features party favors like honey sticks, facts about the issue at hand, and, of course, music provided by Baltimore’s international house diva, Ultra Nate. “Supporting the Green Ambassador’s mission to spread awareness around an environmental cause is a natural fit for [a] house music artist and partygoers,” says Ultra Naté in a press release for the event. “Spreading the love for yourself and what’s around you is what house music is all about.”

A quick rundown of other DJ events and dance parties around town this week: On Wednesday, the Baltimore Boom Bap Society is at the Windup Space. On Thursday, the College Social presents the Soco Rodeo at Baltimore Soundstage. On Saturday, DJ Who is at Mosaic, and Dionysus holds its indie/electro/house party F#@K the Rent. Sunday brings Red Jones to 1919 and, at the Sunday Sessions, DJ Dirty Ralph and DJ Mic_L to the Get Down in Fells Point. On Tuesday, Landis Expandis and DJ Napspace’s party, Dig, is at Joe Squared Station North while DJ Bluebird and Cian Noteman get old school at Joe Squared Inner Harbor.

On Wednesday, Nov. 21, eve of Thanksgiving, the Baltimore Bass Connection will be back in effect for the BBC Turkey Party, with DJ sets by Spank Rock, Musa, and Emily Rabbit. The same night, Steez Promo and Bass Nation present Bass Gravy at Rams Head Live, with EOTO and Downlink.

DJ Booman will be spinning at Joe Squared Inner Harbor on Nov. 27, but as always he has many projects on the horizon: an EP with DJ Tameil and some more collaborations with rapper Comp, to follow up the great tracks they did earlier this year. Doo Dew Kidz, his long-running club group with Jimmy Jones, is also working on an album with new members Benny Stixx and DJ Juwan.

On Oct. 27, the Paradox held its second biannual Respekt party, a joint venture between DJ Exclaime and DJ Fleg and the Basement Boys veterans Teddy Douglas, Karizma, and DJ Spen. The next Respekt should be back around February of next year, while Four Hours of Funk will be in its usual slot at the Windup Space on Friday, Nov. 16.
