Maryland Film Festival

At Artscape, The Charles Theater, July 20-22

Were you one of the unlucky bastards who missed out on some of the kickass work brought to town courtesy of the Maryland Film Festival back in May? Thankfully, a bunch of it has boomeranged back to Baltimore, so don’t miss it the second time around. Should the sticky July heat get you down, pop in to the Charles and cool off for a spell while you enjoy some flicks. Plus it’s free, so we’ll catch you there.

Girl Walk // All Day

Friday, July 20, 7 p.m.

The word “feature-length” as an adjective modifying “dance video” could take two wildly different paths: It could either be an endless sort of fever dream that sucks you in and spits you out, confused and exhausted; or it could be a colorful, beat-blasting adventure that shakes you from the guts out. With Girl Walk // All Day, it’s definitely the latter, bumping along to a soundtrack by Girl Talk.
