The talented folks at Nottingham’s Mount Everest Restaurant, known for satisfying customers in Baltimore County with their delicious Indian, Nepalese, and American food, also serve city customers from a carryout window inside of the forlorn Frankford Market. The carryout menu includes the full gamut of subs, pizzas, and chicken wings, but the main attraction here—other than the wide array of Maryland Lottery products the market sells—are Indian and Nepalese offerings. While scratch-offs and Keno may carry long odds, the chances of getting first-rate Indian or Nepalese food here are very, very good. We thoroughly enjoyed our spicy, oversized lunch of strongly curried lamb vindaloo ($12.50), which came with a large serving of saffron rice, plus an order of naan ($2). Whether your thing is chow chow, junelly, tikka, tandoori, saag, or jalfrezi, the Mount Everest carryout kitchen will hit the spot every bit as well as the restaurant does.
