Marigot Miller, one of the owners of Abbey Burger Bistro, describes this medium rare burger with pineapple, bacon, tomato, lettuce, mozzarella cheese, and a fried egg as “typical.”

Last week, 16 local burger joints faced off in City Paper’s first-ever Burger Bracket. Round-by-round, you narrowed down the contenders, casting more than 15,000 total votes.

In the end, it came down to two of Baltimore’s most beloved patty-slingers: Hamilton Tavern and Abbey Burger Bistro.

It was an incredibly tight race: In the end, Abbey Burger Bistro took the title by a 15-vote margin, 1,323 to 1,308.

Congratulations to the winner. To all the other contenders: Step up your game to challenge the champ in the next Burger Bracket.
