Perhaps it has to do with Don Draper. Or perhaps it’s the abundance of “boutique” varieties of the old go-to whiskey, gin, vodka, etc. Or perhaps it’s that the appletini, the cosmo, the orange crush, the shitty drink trends of decades past—none of them were built to last. You know what was? The martini. The manhattan. The old fashioned. Drinks that our grandparents swilled. Not to knock the contemporary: We’re happy to experience the classic-cocktails renaissance with the �ber high-quality booze that’s flooding the market (and our veins).
