Located right down the street from the Drinkery, Jay’s has some stiff competition here. But it stands up to the challenge. This clean, stylish but not stuffy piano bar is super-friendly, especially on kamikaze karaoke night, when bartender John will take the mic to croon from behind the bar as he pours you shots. It’s low-key and not necessarily a meat market, though your Growlr account will growl a plenty if you want it to. Jay’s also has the second coldest beer in Baltimore, according to our ultra-scientific Sizzlin’ Summer temperature testing, where it came in below freezing. Jay’s is the best gay bar first and foremost because it is a great bar where a great gay crowd hangs out.
