After the Tavern caught fire in late 2011, it was easy to think it would never come back. Even if you had hope, when you walked around the burnt-out shell of the building, it was almost inconceivable that one year later, it would be back. But the owners say they’ll be ready by November—and better than ever. Some neighbors have complained that the building now looks like a chicken coop, but we’re glad to see this neighborhood institution reopen sooner rather than go broke waiting to get everything perfect and never come back at all.
