Occupy Baltimore

Last year, pundits everywhere were acting like the Occupy movement was going to change political discourse forever. Even when it got cold and the mayor got hot and the local Occupistas had to finally abandon McKeldin Square, they promised a big second phase. It hasn’t worked out that way yet. In this election year, Occupy’s once-bright flame has turned into a soft sizzle. We’re a little disappointed, but we haven’t given them up for dead yet. With the crowd at Red Emma’s to keep the revolutionary home fires burning and a mayor who seems dead set on starting a revolution with her power grabs, we hope to see these idealistic rabble-rousers back on the front pages any day now.
