Best Bus Line

Johns Hopkins Shuttle

Charles Village, as much as we love it, is in that weird zone of being “close but not that close” to downtown. Sure, you can drive, but walking’s out of the question and the light rail bypasses CV. That leaves buses, and, frankly, your best bet there is the Hopkins Shuttle. While its stops are somewhat limited, it’s free and it runs pretty much all day (service starts a little after 6 a.m. and stops between midnight or 2 a.m., depending on the day). What really puts the shuttle over other bus lines is how pleasant the experience is: The new buses added this year are surprisingly comfortable and the drivers are always friendly. (When was the last time a bus driver told you to “Watch your step and have a nice day”?) The Hopkins Shuttle is a valuable resource for students and commuters and a nice reminder of the little things that make this city great.
