If you’re in the market for a custom-tailored suit, blazer, or dress shirt—and if you are, you’re probably pretty well-heeled—then your choice in Baltimore is easy: Victor Pascal. In business at the same downtown location for more than 20 years, the French-born Pascal, who, as the son of a tailor, grew up in the fashion world in Paris, has no salesmen. You deal with him and his wife. They take your measurements, help you select your materials, and, for a couple thousand bucks, more or less, get your suit made to order. If it seems precious and old-fashioned, well, it is, but you can’t do any better than this in Baltimore, not at Brooks Brothers or Jos. A. Bank or anywhere else. There’s only Victor Pascal, ready to form personal bonds with his select coterie of high-paying customers. And he treats them very, very well, merci beaucoup.
