Business is booming in Old Town Mall and it’s not because the Baltimore Development Corporation finally found someone to invest in the decaying property. Depending on what time of day you pass by the brick-laid corridor you will find either a ghost town or a scene that could easily be confused with a small farmer’s market. The only difference is in what the vendors offer. Dope, crack, uppers, downers, and weed are always on the menu and the only cooking that takes place requires a spoon, a lighter, and a torn-off piece of a cigarette filter. In all seriousness though, the place is dangerous even by Baltimore’s standards and unless your jonesing feels like a life-or-death situation, you should probably just stick with your neighborhood corner boy or the dealer in your apartment building.
