Best Physical Media: The Sound Garden

Best Physical Media

The Sound Garden

1616 Thames St., (410) 563-9011, cdjoint.com

Thanks to Spotify, we’re now starting to feel old-fashioned because we still download music we want to hear. Fortunately, for those of us who appreciate what increasingly amounts to a physical backup in the new cloud world, there is the Sound Garden, venerable winner of various Best of categories since the heyday of the CD. It still boasts a fairly dazzling range of music on new and used plastic silver discs, but it also offers a best-in-town stock of new and used DVDs and Blu-rays, from Criterion to exploitation flicks, as well as new and used video games for your top platforms, all at decent prices. And neo/retro vinyl purists can’t, and shouldn’t, miss the roomful of new LPs and singles right in the front of the store.
