For the women of our acquaintance, getting a haircut is kind of an event, requiring thought and preplanning and a set-off block of time without distractions. Not to descend into whoa-these-chicks standup shtick here, but most of us dudes just want to get our ears lowered fast in an environment we can abide and come out not looking like a doofus (or at least no more than when we came in). The Beatnik Barbershop meets those needs most expediently with its cadre of pro barbers, and in place of the old borderline-porn and fishing mags, there’s always a copy of The New York Times handy and roots/punk tunes on the speakers. That’ll work. ?
