There are other gyms that boast larger pools and more room to lay out and tan, and some even have full bar service. But for actual fitness purposes, you can’t beat Maryland Athletic Club’s saltwater option. Most importantly—especially if you’re a regular swimmer—not being exposed to chlorine all the time is a huge plus, both in the short- and long-term. No discolored hair or burning eyes or bleachy smell. Some swimmers also prefer the extra buoyancy, and two of MAC’s three saltwater pools are even heated.
