Fashion Attic

1926 Fleet St., Suite A, (410) 276-0817,

Fashion Attic is technically a consignment store, a middle man between seller and buyer, which means prices are higher than at Goodwill (you won’t find much under $10). But if you have an affinity for, say, Kate Spade handbags, it’s a sight more thrifty to purchase one here than through the usual channels. And this small women’s-clothes-only Fells Point shop is exquisitely curated, stocked with cheap items—we recently bought the cutest, flounciest strawberry-print summer dress for $15—as well as more high-end labels like Gucci and Calvin Klein at sharply reduced prices. Shoes, jewelry, belts, jackets, it’s all here and nicely organized; all but the fanciest pieces aren’t more than $25, and when Fashion Attic says its clothing is “gently used,” you can take it at its word. Sure, it’s hit or miss. You’re relying, after all, on the whims of the ritzy folk who actually buy this stuff new. But come back in two or three weeks and likely as not you’ll find a gem.
