Belle Hardware dispenses the one thing we always need when we walk into any hardware store: help. Last time, we were dealing with the faucet for the garden hose, which was leaking thousands of dollars’ worth of Baltimore City Water Bill Already Too Damn High all over the front of our house. We brought the leaky faucet handle to a local hardware store (which shall remain nameless) where we were told we would have to purchase an entire faucet and handle and pipe assembly, because that was the only way to fix the problem. We sought a second opinion at Belle, where a tiny worn-out screw in the offending faucet handle was proved to be the defect. The screw was removed and replaced for us immediately without us even asking, we were instructed as to the mysteries of a couple of bucks’ worth of “packing” (which you jam up into the faucet assembly to ensure watertight operation), outfitted with same, and haven’t heard a drip out of our faucet since. This has proven to be a typical Belle Hardware experience: economical, problem-solving assistance from a knowledgeable and cordial staff. Next mission: pegboard.
