Tabasco remoulade. Cajun pickles. Meat or seafood. Sub roll. Need we say more? Touloulou’s has po’boys down—and not just the traditional fried oyster or roast beef varieties. They have blackened catfish, grilled or fried gator, grilled steak, and Coca-Cola-baked ham. The protein in the varieties we tried were excellent, but the delightful sting of the Tabasco remoulade was what really stayed with us. Cruising through Lauraville, you could almost miss the little restaurant (it has all of two tables and a counter), save for its vibrant pale-teal paint job. But to miss out on these po’boys would be a tragedy.
