Baltimore seems to be experiencing a welcome pizza renaissance these days, and siblings Josh and Stephanie Hershkovitz earn top honors for bringing speakeasy cool to the wood-fired pizzeria. Along with a crust that offers an expert balance of crispy and chewy, the Hershkovitzes top their pies with housemade mozzarella and sausage, and novel combinations like kale and pistachio, and work wonders with their cacio e pepe pizza, punching up the mix of mozzarella, grana padano, fontina, and pecorino romano with a jolt of pepper. Service couldn’t be nicer and they put the same amount of care into the drinks as they do the pizza. Win-win.
