Granted, Baltimore proper’s German restaurant scene consists pretty much of Eichenkranz, so it’s beyond wunderbar to have Christa Seiler’s traditional German cooking at Duesenberg’s diner four nights a week (Wednesday-Saturday). Her menu boasts schnitzel und bratwurst, sauerbraten und spaetzle, and under her deft hand, cabbage becomes a silky salad, a sweet and tangy blaukraut, or a sauerkraut full of crunch. Homemade desserts, a BYOB policy and a sense of gemutlichkeit —something like charm—make it worth the trip across town.
