Baltimore Dining

Best Food Truck

the Gypsy Queen Caf?

(443) 717-2957,, @thegypsytruck

With the recent explosion of food trucks around the city, it’s only appropriate that the Gypsy Queen should reign over them all. Since early this year, the Queen has prowled the streets of Baltimore providing lunchtime sustenance that, in the chefs’ own words, “marries inventive cuisine with cheeky-smart ass street food.” While other trucks may specialize in burgers or burritos, the Queen seems to offer a little something for everyone. The menu varies day to day, but you can count on high-quality falafel es, mouthwatering sliders (with either bacon relish and cheddar or, brace yourself kids, black truffles), hush puppies, and ultra-creamy mac ‘n’ cheese served in a waffle cone. Maybe the most astounding thing about the Gypsy Queen is how cheap it is: usually between $6 and $10 for entr?es satisfying enough to make you skip dinner. With weekly appearances at City Hall, Canton, and Charles Village, you really owe it to yourself to track it down and experience culinary royalty first-hand.
