Ehh, food snobs out there, quit your bellyaching. Let’s face it—you’re hungry, have zero time, and don’t feel like clogging up your gullet with fatty, preservative-laden crap. Once, the default go-to was Subway, which, of course, is also fatty, preservative-laden crap, but you know, marketing (Best Baltimorean Michael Phelps! Also: Jared!). Now, thank Jeebus, we have a few Chipotles in town. Yes, part-owned by McDonald’s. So what? The food is delicious. Mixed bag on the healthy part, but one could get away with pretty healthy if you skip the dairy products and guac. And the meat is always succulent and of decent provenance: organic and antibiotic-free, which is especially significant with regard to pork, which is pretty tough to find anywhere, save for high-end restaurants. And they grow some of their own produce, and now they have brown rice, and much like the famed off-menu menu at In-And-Out Burgers, they will custom-make anything they can if you request it. Most common such item: quesadilla. Another protip: you can combo the meats, e.g. chicken AND pork!
