Baltimore Dining

Best Ethiopian

1100 Maryland Ave., (410) 385-0318,

For a brief shining moment, there was some competition in this category—RIP, Elfegne—but Dukem continues to reign supreme. The food is delectable, the portions generous, and the prices reasonable. Grab one of the combination platters on spongy injera bread to get the full experience. The juxtaposition of textures and flavors is sure to delight, from creamy lentils to earthy greens to spicy wats (thick stews). And don’t let those little puddles of food fool you; by the time we finish a combo we’re usually full to the point of bursting. It’s hard to stop eating when it’s all this good.
