Fractured Prune Donut Shoppe

8705 Harford Road, fracturedprune.com, (410) 661-9999

Taking indulgence to a whole new level, the Fractured Prune on Harford Road defies traditional doughnut convention with its made-to-order circular sweets. Peppermint patty, strawberry short cake, and trail mix are just a few of the almost infinite nontraditional arrangements possible when getting your fried-dough fix at the FP. The Maryland franchise got its start in Ocean City back in 1976 and even offers a doughnut called the O.C. Sand, which is essentially a thick coating of hot honey glaze and a heavy dousing of cinnamon sugar. Don’t get us wrong. It’s not a complete reinvention of the wheel here; they’ve just done the doughnut equivalent of switching out old stock rims for 22-inch chromed-out spinners with gold trim.
