OK, does anyone not order a salad with their pizza? A nice, fresh, crunchy salad lightly dressed sans meat and/or cheese just goes perfectly with melty, meaty pizza pie. The best version we’ve tried is the Bagby chop salad at the Bagby Pizza Company in Harbor East. True to its name, the salad features chopped romaine tossed with tiny bits of raw veggies, including squash, carrot, green onion, asparagus, and just enough spicy red onion to keep it interesting. Dressed in an extremely light, bright green, fresh herb vinaigrette and just a dusting of parm, this salad means we can order delicious super-thin—cracker-thin—Bagby pizza with sweet fennel sausage and sopressata and not feel heavy even after a Peroni.
