There’s nothing more aggravating to a hangover than waiting around for a table. This doesn’t happen at McCabe’s, which looks enough like a hole in the wall to be free of the weekend-breakfast horde. Even better, there aren’t any enormous windows filled with splitting-headache-inducing sunlight. You can sit in a dim but well-kept bar and enjoy an excellent brunch. Every item on the one-page brunch menu is solid—but a hash topped with a sous vide egg and plated with a side of dressed greens really hits the spot. So do the carafes of champagne punch and bloody marys, if you’re a hair of the dog kinda person.
