Baltimore Dining

Best Bagel

Towson Hot Bagels

16 Allegheny Ave., Towson, (410) 337-0006; 3301 Boston St., (410)-732-9090; towsonhotbagels.com

Over the past couple of years, Towson Hot Bagels has inserted itself into the Baltimore bagel spectrum, with Goldberg’s serving it up traditional-style in Pikesville, Greg’s doing the “Canadian style” in Belvedere Square, and Roland Park somewhere in between. Towson Hot Bagels (which now has an outpost in Canton) leans more toward Goldberg’s side, with the typical garlic, onion, poppy seed, and everything flavors, and it makes them with the just-right combination of chewiness, fluffiness, and ever-so-slight sweetness. They’re perfect fresh with a schmear of cream cheese, of course, but THB has a full deli counter, so you can pile on the fixin’s. We find the storefront a little too overwhelming to dine in on weekends, but on warm sunny days the tables out front are perfect. Linger over brunch and grab a dozen to go.
