The recent afternoon pairing of these local sports-radio vets has resulted in probably the most listenable show to date. Both Rob Long and Bob Haynie are passionate about local sports and generally quite knowledgeable, and both have great “radio” voices and polished delivery without any trace of cheese or pretense. They lack the usual contrasting-personalities dynamic, such as the “straight man/goofball” team-up that is most often broadcast on this station, but this somehow works—their shared enthusiasm seems to resonate through to the listener. Plus generally they’re not complete assholes to callers, which sets them apart from some of the other more high-profile hosts.
