Best Self-Promoting MASOCHIST: Ideen Barimani

Best Self-Promoting Masochist

Ideen Barimani

ideenbarimani.blogspot.com

Ideen Barimani of Abingdon has a blog called All 81, in which he documents his attendance at every home game of Your Baltimore Orioles. This deserves something—praise, maybe. The blog is chock-full of snaps of Barimani with mascot(s) (Mr. Boh certainly counts, right? But Dora the Explorer? Spongebob?), snaps of the Jumbotron, snaps of crumpled tickets to the game. The man is a fan, but he documents the scene laudably. The blog is sweet but not sugarcoated, as in a recent game in which paid attendance was reported to be 11,000 but by Barimani’s reckoning, “half were there.” Still, there’s more sweetness here than light, and for a team as sad as the O’s, any fan love is good love: “Game #64 - Sunday, August 14, 2011 at 1:35 P.M. The Orioles had a tough home-stand. But we persevere and brave whatever elements are thrown at us. They did get the win today. Best part of today - Nickeolodeon Kids Day! Look at some of the legends I got my photographs with! :)”
