When Adam Jones isn’t busy putting birds on things, he spends his time being the living embodiment of the old Orioles Way. Jones is a gold-glove center fielder; he hits for average, he sure as heck hits for power; and this season he has been money in close games. But the numbers are just the start of it. Jones is no doubt the leader of this team, and his shaving cream pies have been a huge part of the O’s clubhouse renaissance. Throw in the fact that he just signed a six-year deal guaranteeing he’ll be nesting in Birdland for a long time to come and Adam Jones is a no-brainer for “Best Oriole.”
