The Wheelabrator incinerator smokestack

Many people would consider the giant white column that looms over 395 Best Eyesore, and considering it exists to vent the fumes from burning waste, we suspect it has few fans. But it was among our first sights of Baltimore when we first came here lo those many years ago, and it still greets us from trips out of town, giant letters stenciling out baltimore on its side, like a giant You Are Here marker. Or You Are Home, more like.
