We’re getting a little tired of good new guitar bands being instantly tagged as ’90s revivalists just because that decade was the last time indie actually rocked. So if that’s the only angle you’re ready to approach Crimes with, don’t bother. But if you want to hear a tight, noisy power trio that’s writing short, hooky tunes in the now without projecting nostalgia onto the affair, go catch them some night at the Charm City Art Space. Or check out “My Body Is a Demolition Derby,” the lead track from FLUFFY, their debut EP, released earlier this year.
